Trillium Lake

Mount Hood from Trillium Lake

Trillium Lake is the epitome of a landscape photo. It is the iconic Oregon image with Mount Hood reflecting in the mirrored surface of the lake.  The lake is actually a reservoir created for recreation and has two camping areas near it, one close to the lake side.

Trillium Lake is located in the little town of Government Camp and is easily accessible in the summer season. In the winter the lake freezes over and the road is closed to provide cross country skiing and snowshoeing to the three miles to the lake.

No trip to Mount Hood is complete without a stop at Trillium.
