I write a column for my local newspaper and I decided to discuss losing Betty and gaining Hazel. I discuss my approach to how I photograph her

She has the stare of a healer already. Hazel has discovered the joys of playing fetch with the fuzzy yellow ball.

Hazel is starting to figure out what the leash is all about. She’s not fighting it at all, but she’d prefer to run free. If I trusted the “Come Hazel” command more maybe, but this little girl has a strong will and an adventurous spirit, which is fine by me.

I have neighbors just down the road who have a nice trimmed grassy yard next to their home. When we get to the grass Hazel wants to play in it

Princess Hazelnut Pupcake. She’s 12 weeks old now and growing like a bad weed.

Hazel has lived here at the Homette for just over a week now and she’s already developed the need to always be at my feet or inside my shadow.
