Mt Hood from Jonsrud Viewpoint
Jonsrud Viewpoint in Sandy Oregon is one of the best places to photograph Mount Hood from its west side. Located in the east Clackamas County town of Sandy, its a promontory that overlooks the Sandy River Canyon with the Sandy River winding through the scene creating a pathway to Mount Hood only 25 miles away. Facing east, Jonsrud Viewpoint is a perfect place for a sunrise.
Jonsrud Viewpoint is named for the Jonsrud family who donated the land for the little park located there. Parking at the viewpoint is very limited.
